China low floats heat up!

Inflation who?

Nice trade tonight on TIRX.

Shares popped right after the close.

Seeing a lot of these low float China small-caps rip and hit the scanner pre and post-market.

Dropped the alert about an hour into the post-market because it was clearly holding VWAP (red line) seen on the chart below.

I started small at $.82 and built size down to $.74

Results not typical. Trading is hard. Nothing is guaranteed.

Then starting scaling out once up 20-30%.

Obviously I sold too soon because shares just kept going to $1.80’s.

Not typical of most stocks. But we are seeing a lot of China small-caps fly.

I think VWAP is the best way to trade these. In fact, later in the evening you can see how it popped again right off VWAP. See the “Go” trigger?

At or above VWAP and we look for continuation higher.

A break of VWAP and start scaling out for a small manageable loss.

These China low floats are fun when the work because they can move a few hundred %. But I still think it’s smart trading to target 20-30% because what goes up fast, is almost certainly going to come down fast.

If you’re trimming and trailing into the supernova that’s fantastic, but once it goes parabolic like that gotta lock the gains before the retracement.

I like these momentum stocks because they don’t care about inflation and interest rates.

We’ll go hunting again in the morning.
